Why Small Businesses Need Apps Just as Much as the Big Guys.

You’ve seen the stats and you know the story – mobile app downloads are on the rise, and user engagement has grown by leaps and bounds over the past couple years. But still, small business owners are often reluctant to focus on mobile as a marketing strategy, because they fear it’s only valuable for larger companies.

But that’s simply not true. An app is a complete marketing solution, and when it’s done well, it can increase revenue and customer engagement without too much added expense – saving the business significant amounts of money.

Here are some common strategies for rethinking your mobile app strategy:

 Rethink customer loyalty

The better a customer experience, the more likely they are to come back, no matter how large or small your business is. Loyal customers make up 20% of a business’ total revenue, and drives 80% of their revenue. The fact is, it costs 500% more to acquire a new customer than it does to retain the ones you already have. That’s why keeping customers happy should be one of your most important goals.

Rethink recommendations

Word-of-mouth advertising is the holy grail for just about any business. Nielsen concluded that 92% of consumers believe personal recommendations from friends and family more than any other form of advertising! One way to leverage this through apps is to create push notifications encouraging them to leave positive reviews, which in turn can get you more customers without trying hard.
